How to measure your shoe width correctly.

1.

It is about the widest part of your foot:
Determine the circumference with a tape measure at the widest part of your foot. It is best to take off your socks for this purpose.

2.

Right time of day:
Measure the width best in the evening, because then your foot has the largest circumference after everyday stress.

3.

Measuring tape alternative:
If you don't have a tape measure at hand, take a string and put it on a folding rule after measuring.

4.

Weight distribution:
When measuring, try to distribute your weight evenly on both your feet and on the front and back of your foot.

5.

Important - Measure both feet:
Repeat for the other foot, compare the values and take the larger measurement.

6.

Determine your shoe wide:
Compare the values with the size chart to find the right size.

Yes, many shoes can stretch over time and adapt to the shape of your foot. This is because shoes are often made from materials like leather, suede, and fabric, which can expand with repeated wear and movement.

However, it's important to note that not all shoes stretch evenly. Some materials are more flexible than others, and certain shoe types tend to stretch more than others. It also depends on the type of shoe – for example, athletic shoes, which are often subjected to more movement, generally stretch faster than shoes worn only occasionally.

Keep in mind that stretching is not guaranteed, and shoes that are too tight may not stretch enough to provide a perfect fit. In some cases, it may be necessary to choose shoes in the correct size and width from the start to ensure a comfortable and healthy fit.

If a shoe is too big, it can lead to a number of problems. First, your foot may slide around inside the shoe, resulting in a poor fit and an unstable gait. This can increase the risk of injuries such as sprains or falls. Additionally, oversized shoes can cause friction and pressure on the foot, leading to blisters, chafing, and pain.

In the long term, wearing shoes that are too large can also have negative effects on foot health. If the foot lacks proper support and slides within the shoe, this can place excessive strain on certain areas of the foot, potentially leading to conditions like plantar fasciitis or heel spurs.

That’s why it’s important to wear shoes that are the right size and offer a proper fit, ensuring both comfort and safety.

Shoe width indicates how wide a shoe is at the ball of the foot. It plays a key role in fit – especially for narrow or wider feet.

JOSEF SEIBEL offers widths such as Width G for standard feet and Width K for wider feet. This range ensures optimal comfort and a secure fit.

You can determine the correct width by measuring the circumference of your foot at the ball. Pressure points or a loose fit are also signs that the width may be incorrect.

If the shoe is too narrow, it can cause pressure points or blisters. If it’s too wide, it may lack proper support. In both cases, the fit and walking comfort are compromised.

Yes, selected models are available in extra wide versions like Width K – ideal for individuals with broader feet or special orthopedic needs.
